Profile Wiki Reflection

As a learner I felt excited and honoured about sharing where I’m at with my fellow cohorts. Giving a basic description of me feels appropriate whilst we share this GDLT journey together.  It warrants value for that purpose, though I am not sure if anybody has taken the time to look at it themselves. In any case for me it is like a new beginning, a starting point for the road ahead.

This wiki design allows group learning activities to post information on multiple topics. The potential for my learners to be supported from this activity would be to get an instant gage on who is who in your class.  What classmates are similar or different and if they are local enough to study together. With younger students in particular, they would get great insights on who they are, by noticing things about themselves on a deeper level and getting to know their friends better.

This profile wiki leads into greater social interaction (Vygotsky) in the class room as a scaffold strategy. To think, investigate, share and display personal information. To collaborate, utilising cognitive processes to connect and understand one another's likes/dislikes, colours, learning styles, social attitudes and cultural backgrounds. Incorporating learning theories of cognitivism = learners thoughts, constructivisim = individual profiles, connectivisim = networking on the wiki, behaviourism = ethical approach to answer ones personal details, diversity = interests and social attitudes.
